"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat..." Matthew 25:35
As a church we want to consistently and constantly make efforts to obey Jesus. The Bible is clear about the Christ-Followers command to feed the hungry. My research into last year’s efforts reveal...
Local Hunger Efforts
- Feeding The Homeless Team = A group from our church went every Monday and gave out free lunches to the homeless of Hendersonville.
- Back Pack Children’s Food Ministry = 145 backpacks were given out Friday to feed hungry children over the weekend. That was done on weekly bases.
- InterFatih = 9,000 family received food last year.
- Henderson County Rescue Mission = Last year provided 52,000 free meals.
State Hunger Efforts
Hurricane Feed Team = 272,501 meals served to feed the hungry in Texas after Hurricane IKE. North Carolina Baptist always have the largest volunteer force.
Southern Baptist Convention Hunger Efforts
Last year, more than $1.2 million was provided to 2,200 hunger ministries. Also, 3.5 million meals were provided with Domestic Hunger Funds. In the past two months $940,847.58 from the Southern Baptist World Hunger and Relief Fund had been allocated to 27 community development projects and 23 disaster relief efforts worldwide.
The above stats are just a glimpse of what your giving did last year in an effort to feed the hungry. Mud Creek wants to do more to obey Jesus’ command this year. On October 4 & 5th you will be given the opportunity to contribute to our fall missions offering. Please come prepared to give more money so we can do more ministries to feed the hungry. You can give securely on our website by clicking the donate button on our the home page and following the directions.
