Amazing weekend!
Last night was the end of the Gift series at SNC. We wrapped up unwrapping Spiritual Gifts. I’m looking at a pile of communication cards that people have put their gifts on. It is going to be exciting this week praying through and positioning those people into ministry. Gifts are a tough teach because they are so practical and organic. They were never meant to be just studied they were meant to be exercised. Will do series different in future…needed to do structure and positioning earlier and do kind of an on the job training approach. Hmmm?
I hope the enemy didn’t have more interceptions of the Word than Jake Delhomme threw last night. Wow…couldn’t believe he threw 5. Missed Cory and David and hope they enjoyed the game.
Just finished up ordination counsel with Mike Young and Steve Starling and it was awesome. Mike is working as Executive Pastor at a local church near Raleigh and Steve is starting a Biker Church in Monroe, NC. I love seeing God call two men from the same church to two totally different ministries.
Looking forward to UNC/Wake bball game tonight good test for the Heels.
Missed the Overstreet twins and Melissa last night at SNC. If you noticed the tech was a little off it was because of their absence. Melissa was in Chicago taking over the world with her jewelry business. Cheryl and I are so proud of the Walters family. The Overstreets are HS seniors and they ran tech at their school dance. These guys are amazing young men that love Jesus and are using their gifts.
Justin Blythe spent some time tweaking our sound. Anything he touches sounds better. I love having him consult in those areas. Intelligibility is key with sound and Justin makes it thump with intelligibility.
Children’s transition team is in a groove. The kids love this group and the parents are pleased. My goal was to maintain but they have taken it to another level. Way to go, Big Eve, Mooooorgan, Hope, Melisa, B, Caleb, Keris & Greg.
I think I’ve recruited 4 guys to do the Team In Training Triathlon with me in June! Cancer is a horrible disease and I believe we can find a cure. That research takes money and that is our goal. I want to raise $100,000 dollars! I will start given more information about this in the future. I’m carb loading now… Pray for, Joey, Todd, Chris and David.
Summer Ecamps are filling up! Ecamp Fruitland is going to be awesome. I love working with 1st Baptist Charlotte and Jay Oliver. Jay is a great leader and our team is looking forward to following this young visionary. 2,000 students next summer?
Did I mention that Pastor Greg is preaching at SNC this week? Also, we are out of seat!?!
Big systems and structure week for me this week. It is a constant battle trying to stay ahead of growth. Systems and structures must change and I’ve got to have wisdom to catalyst that effort.
I can’t quit thinking and praying for my Fruitland classes. I think God wants to do something great.
Finally going to get some crablegs after church tonight! Yum!
