Crazy week! Felt like I never got caught up. Just now deleted my last email.

God is doing some incredible stuff! I've got huge news to share with SNC Community Groups next week! Big change coming so prepare yourself.

Record crowd tonight @ SNC! The news has something to do with that problem.

Pastor Greg's series is the best teaching on the doctrine of sanctification I've ever heard. Truth and authenticity strained through personality is always incredible.

Staying up late to watch UFC tonight. Not good at staying up.

Go Arizona! Yes, I'm pulling for the underdog.

Ministry Morphs

Ministry morphs.  It doesn’t stay the same.  Purposes stay the same because they were established by the Word but programs, plans and people change. 

 

I love questions.  A question is neither offensive or defensive it is just a question.  When we attach questions to purpose they can really help us evaluate our obedience to God’s biblical commands.  The following cycle of questions can really bring clarity to the change necessary for morphing ministries to accomplish God's purposes. 

 

·         What for?  What are we making this ministry change for?

 

·         What if?  What would happen if we made the change?

 

·         Why not?  Why wouldn’t we make the change?

 

·         What?  What is happening now that the change has been made?

 

·         What next?  What needs to be changed next? 

 

The cycle then starts over….

 

The only constant in ministry is Christ and change.  Allow these questions to help you obey Christ and bring clarity to change.

The Developmental Phases Of Adolescents – At this time, students will be reacquainted with the development of their youth and get a clear picture of what a godly student (touchdown teen) looks like.

'09 Student Winter Retreat Wrap Up

One word could describe our ’09 Student Winter Retreat, incredible!  I want to thank the parents for the confidence you have in our Student Ministry Staff.  Ryan and his team really know how to pull off life changing events. 

Ryan left Letha, his pregnant wife that was just diagnosed with gestational diabetes, at home.  She has been encouraged by her doctors to be on “bed rest” for the rest of her pregnancy.  Little Peyton Grace is due in March.  I just got off the phone with Ryan and he just got back from taking his 3yr old Grayson to the doctor.  Strep throat was the diagnosis.  Please pray for Ryan and his family.  Ryan, you are a great husband and father. 

 Ryan could not quit braggin’ on the adult leaders on this trip.  He said they were a dream team.  Their leadership in the small groups was the highlight of the weekend.  Six students gave their lives to Jesus and several others revealed some serious issues that they are dealing with.  One student actually received a phone call from their parents informing the student that they were getting a divorce.  Ryan testified how the student’s friends rallied around in true fellowship. 

Make sure to stay connected with Mud Creek Student Ministries.  We have some huge plans that will be revealed in the coming weeks.  God is good and I want to make sure He gets all the praise for His protection and provision as we close out ’09 Student Winter Retreat.

An Antidote 4 Apathy

A man was doing a survey on the meaning of apathy.  The overwhelming response was, “I don’t know and I don’t care.”  Apathy is the lack of interest in anything, or the absence of any wish to do anything.

Ministry leaders need an antidote for apathy.  The only know antidote for apathy is interest.  How do you gain interest?  One word, investment, an investment always gains interest (think bank account).  Are the people around you investing their gifts, time and energy to a clear vision? 

Clearly show people where they can invest and watch their interest grow.  What are some other antidotes for apathy?
