How Beautiful The Blood Flow

Most of you know that I'm a cancer survivor. I was diagnosed with Leukemia as a late teen. Part of my recovery is having routine blood work done. The process starts as a 12 hr. fast from any food or drink except water. So last night starting at 9pm I had to fast until this morning at 9am. As I sat preparing for the prick I thought about the "junk" I put in my body the day before. The fried bologna sandwich and tater tots and Kit Kat bar crossed my mind. I did just the minimum for my blood to be clean but I knew I could have done more.

I'm in the book of Luke for my S.O.A.P. devotions and I'm observing that Jesus didn't do the minimum for me. Jesus blood was pure and without any "junk." He was my perfect substitute! As he passionately made his way to the cross he knew he was going to be the perfect substitute for my sins. Thank you Jesus for your perfect beautiful blood flow!
